| Overview of Teach Inn | |
Teach Inn Uganda was built in 2007 as part of the Channel 4 programme Millionaires Mission at Ryabirengye Primary School in Bukinda (approximately 30 km away from Kabale Town, southwestern Uganda). It is the home for volunteers working at Ryabirengye and Nyakasiru Primary Schools. Set on a hillside it boasts amazing views over the surrounding area and is a tranquil spot… when the kids go home! Volunteers enjoy a communal area with a large dining table, sofas and veranda which is perfect for socialising. Teach Inn belongs to a local management committee, not to Edirisa. However, Edirisa is highly involved as we are in charge of volunteer coordination and workshop content. We supply long-term volunteers and specialists (experienced teachers) and promote short-term volunteering among backpackers travelling in East Africa. Other volunteer candidates should contact i-to-i. You can learn a lot about the life at Teach Inn by following the Teach Inn blog (a part of the wider Smiles Blog).
