PROGRAM DETAILS

Lake Bunyonyi - Buhoma Itinerary

Day 1: Kabale - Lake Bunyonyi

We will sleep at The Heart of Edirisa at Lake Bunyonyi. At 10 in the morning, following a hearty breakfast, we will have a short paddle to the Kyabahinga peninsula for a singing and dancing presentation by the pupils of Edirisa Nursery School. At a trading centre above the school we will be invited to a cup of the local brew, obushera. On the ridge of the peninsula we will meet a traditional healer with his herbs, a craftmaker who will give you a lesson in making crafts and an independent thinker who serves tasty lunches. In the afternoon we will take a dugout canoe to Habukomi Island to camp at Tom's Homestay.

Day 2: Lake Bunyonyi - Lake Kayumbu

After a canoe trip to the other side of the lake, we will ascend towards the fascinating Echuya Forest Reserve, taking about 4 hours. In Echuya you will experience something unique: a 2-hour Batwa “Pygmy” guided nature trail. After a delicious picnic lunch with a breathtaking view we will begin our descent towards a family on the shore of Lake Kayumbu, possibly following the path taken in 1914 by the English and their 100 porters to defeat the rebel leader Katuregye. While the British carried a giant canoe with them, you won’t need to.

Day 3: Lake Kayumbu - Lake Mutanda

Following lakeshore breakfast we will paddle across Lake Chahafi and hike to Kisoro Town, through villages on fertile volcanic soils. Our splendid lunch will be at Coffee Pot in the middle of the town, allowing us to sort out any urban needs you may have. In the afternoon we will proceed to Lake Mutanda. A short boat ride will bring you to Mutanda Island Lodge on a small island in the south of the lake (check out a Facebook album about it) where pregnant unmarried girls were traditionally left as a punishment. We will pitch our tents, relax and have a tasty buffet dinner.

Day 4: Lake Mutanda - Nkuringo

After 3 hours of dugout canoeing and a lunch break at Chameleon Hill Lodge, we will start following village trails. Beautiful views of the lake, the Virunga Volcanoes and the rugged ridges of the western arm of the Western Rift Valley can be admired on a clear day. You will end your day with a night at Albertine Campsite, but despite the name you are likely to get a room there for a change!

Day 5: Nkuringo - Buhoma

Accompanied by a park ranger, your guide will take you down the steep slope to Kashasha River, already within the rainforest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This is a narrow trekking path with interesting bridges, a gorgeous river junction and natural obstacles that will entertain you for an hour or two. Afterwards the route is wide and flat. Plenty of birds are guaranteed, and other wildlife if you are lucky. We will be at Buhoma in 4 to 5 hours in total, excluding an optional stop at the triple waterfalls (highly recommended).

heree! lv bags

,I love the print but I was afraid of getting it dirty since I just toss my wallet in my bag and patent leather is pretty vulnerable to permanent stains. I ended up getting the leopard insolite and I love it! I'd say go for it if you love it! lv bags.
