Ultimate Hike

The Ultimate Hike across the Gorilla Highlands region was created for Bjørn, Charlotte, Henriette, Ole Peder and Petter from Norway. They paid USD 550 per person for a full-board experience; this price didn't include their accommodation upgrades and activities in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

We picked them up in Kigali on 6 July 2015. They began to hike at Lake Bunyonyi next morning and 8 days later they were at Buhoma, ready for their safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Days 1-3

The first three days were devoted to a trip almost identical to 3-day Kabale-Mgahinga, just without the Kabale-Bunyonyi section. That meant meeting a traditional healer and a craftmaker, sleeping at Tom's Homestay, following Kanusu through Echuya Forest Reserve and camping on the gorgeous shores of Lake Kayumbu.

Days 4-5

Our Norwegians visited mountain gorillas at Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and climbed Mt Sabinyo (3,645m/12,000ft). You could choose any other activities that this tremendous park has on offer (download our PDF to get an idea of what is there) or perhaps take some rest.

Bjørn, Charlotte, Henriette, Ole Peder and Petter decided to stay at Mount Gahinga Lodge (an accommodation upgrade) and their experience there is at the centre of the Mgahinga Facebook album.

Days 6-8

On Day 6 they hiked from Mgahinga to Kisoro Town with a stop at an organic farmer. They had delicious lunch at the legendary Travellers Rest Hotel and then continued to Mutanda Island Lodge to camp on a small but extraordinary island (check out a Facebook album about it).

Next day they took a motorboat across Lake Mutanda, got a nice lunch at Chameleon Hill Lodge and walked to Nkuringo where they were sleeping at Gorilla Camp.

The last day was about crossing the rugged rainforest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Luckily they were coming from the easy direction; the park boundary is 600m/2000ft below the road. They hiked along Kashasha River towards a beautiful river junction where a quick swim refreshed them up. Then the Norwegians almost ran to Buhoma, overtaking local people who use the path through Bwindi to reach village markets.

heree! lv bags

,I love the print but I was afraid of getting it dirty since I just toss my wallet in my bag and patent leather is pretty vulnerable to permanent stains. I ended up getting the leopard insolite and I love it! I'd say go for it if you love it! lv bags.
