Batwa Kids

Hey, young adventurer, do you want to spend some hours with Batwa children, hunting in a forest?

The Batwa are sometimes also called "Pygmies". They were the first people in our part of Africa and they used to live in the forest, collecting fruits and chasing wild animals. They were very short because that helped with life in the jungle. These days their villages are outside the woods and they are growing taller. They are inviting you to come grab a Batwa bow with arrows, and learn from them about nature!

Our first stop will be at a place called Muko, at the end of Lake Bunyonyi. In a nice wooden restaurant we will take a cup of tea and read a Batwa story about hunting.

In the old days everybody hunted animals for food. Nowadays we can feed ourselves in other ways, can't we? We also want animals to live happily, don't we?

But it's fun to play and pretend! You will be looking for targets that show forest elephants, buffaloes, leopards and other creatures that used to roam Echuya Forest (Click or tap on the painting by Zehavit Carmel, an artist from Israel, to see the old forest bigger and better).

Your Batwa guide will also show you all kinds of fruits of the forest. You will see what herbs they used and even touch the soft leaves they had as toilet paper!

At a stone deep in the forest you will sharpen your arrows the way Batwa did it.

Then you will carry your "meat" to a sacred tree...

Where we will open our bags and feast on our picnic lunch.

When we return to where the car is parked, we will have some fun with limbo!

And for you to remember this day with Batwa, the bow and arrows will be yours to take home!

What do you think? Does it sound like fun? If you think so, tell your parents or guardians to read more here...

See you in Echuya!

heree! lv bags

,I love the print but I was afraid of getting it dirty since I just toss my wallet in my bag and patent leather is pretty vulnerable to permanent stains. I ended up getting the leopard insolite and I love it! I'd say go for it if you love it! lv bags.
